How easily do dogs get worms?

Your dog can contract hookworms by accidentally ingesting hookworm larvae found in the soil. They can also get hookworms through close skin contact with larvae left in soil or sand.

Can dog food cause worms?

Any kind of food can be contaminated by parasites and can result in the consumer getting parasites or worms. Commercial pet food is unlikely to harbor worms, or worm eggs because it is highly processed.
