The daily dose for SAFE-GUARD Canine is 50 mg/kg (22.7 mg/lb) of body weight. Give SAFE-GUARD Canine to your dog by mixing the daily dose with a small amount of the usual food. Make sure your dog eats all of the medicated food. You may need to moisten dry dog food to aid mixing.


How much safeguard Dewormer do I give my puppy?

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR DOGS: Shake bottle well and then measuring with an oral medication syringe give 1 mL (equal to 1 cc or ¼ teaspoon) per each 5 lbs. of your dog's weight mixed with a small amount of moist dog food (to make sure the dog consumes it all). Repeat this dose for three days in a row.

Can you give Safeguard to puppies?

Safe-guard dewormer is not recommended for puppies under 6 weeks old BUT Pyrantel Pamoate is safe for 2+ wk old puppies. Both Safeguard and Pyrantel Pamoate claim to be safe for pregnant and lactating female dogs.

How often do you give Safeguard to puppies?

WORMING PROTOCOL as a dog breeder myself I personally use Safe-guard dewormer (Fenbendazole) starting at 2 wks old and again every 2 weeks until they're 8 weeks old or every 2 weeks until they go home. I use fenbendazole as a Giardia preventative/treatment and also because it covers a wider range of parasites.
