Product Use: SafeGuard is safe for use in puppies six weeks or older and adult dogs, including pregnant females. Do not deworm a dog or puppy that is sick. Consult your veterinarian for diagnosis of the illness.

Safe-guard dewormer is not recommended for puppies under 6 weeks old BUT Pyrantel Pamoate is safe for 2+ wk old puppies. Both Safeguard and Pyrantel Pamoate claim to be safe for pregnant and lactating female dogs.

How much safe-guard does a puppy need?

The daily dose for SAFE-GUARD Canine is 50 mg/kg (22.7 mg/lb) of body weight. Give SAFE-GUARD Canine to your dog by mixing the daily dose with a small amount of the usual food. Make sure your dog eats all of the medicated food. You may need to moisten dry dog food to aid mixing.
