In general, we don't recommend it for dogs. While dogs have been fed cornmeal (as a filler in dog food) for decades, that doesn't make it healthy. Corn is not part of the canine diet, many dogs have trouble digesting it, and most cornmeal these days is made from nutritionally poor, mass-produced corn.
Is cornbread toxic to dogs?
Cornbread in moderation is unlikely to harm your dog, although some pets have wheat allergies or sensitivities to grains. However, cornbread often has added sugar, and has minimal nutritional value for dogs. It should not form a staple of your dog's diet, but as an occasional snack it poses few health risks.
Can I feed my dog corn flour?
Cornflour. Often used as a thickener in many types of dog foods, cornflour is also completely safe in your pet's meals, though, again, it doesn't add much in nutritional value. It is particularly useful if you like to make your own treats and if your dog is gluten-free.
