Are Salukis good family dogs?

The saluki is decidedly a one-family dog, tending to be aloof, or even shy, with strangers. This is a devoted, but not particularly demonstrative, breed that will relish sitting by your side, not on your lap. Salukis are quiet at home, extremely gentle with children, and good with other dogs.

Is a Saluki a cross breed?

Cross-Breeds The Saluki is used in few crossbreeds, although a Saluki–Greyhound hybrid is sometimes encountered, especially in the United States. They are also sometimes used to create Lurchers, but these are more commonly crosses of Greyhounds or Whippets with British working dogs, such as Collies or Terriers.

Are Salukis related to greyhounds?

Although the Saluki and the Greyhound are closely related, they have key differences that makes telling them apart easy!

Are Salukis aggressive?

One of the swiftest and most graceful of all breeds, the aristocratic Saluki is possessed of a quiet dignity and independence. Once past the destructive puppy stage, a Saluki is docile and quiet indoors, a creature of comfort who prefers soft beds and sofas on which he can lounge and survey his domain.
