Salmonella — Dogs are at risk of contracting salmonella. Owners who feed raw eggs to dogs could also be exposed to salmonella. If a dog eats an egg contaminated by salmonella, they could get an infection called Salmonellosis. The symptoms of Salmonellosis includes fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and lethargy.

Eggs are rich in avidin, which inhibits the absorption of biotin, a B vitamin. However egg yolks are a very good source of biotin, so you can safely feed your dog a raw egg every day. Cooking will also destroy the avidin for extra safety.
What happens if a dog eats egg yolk?
For healthy dogs, a dose of fat and cholesterol from egg yolks may not be harmful, though pet parents should be aware of the risk of inducing pancreatitis. Certain breeds of dogs, including Miniature Schnauzers and Terriers, are at increased risk of developing pancreatitis.
