Will a shelter take an aggressive dog?

Will a vet put down an aggressive dog?

In addition to aggression, dogs are euthanized for separation anxiety, resource guarding and even just unruly behaviors. Many of these less serious behavior issues can often be addressed with the help of a competent certified dog behavior specialist or animal behaviorist.

Will a rescue take a dog that bites?

Most rescue groups will not accept dogs who have a history of biting, and shelters that do accept them will often euthanize, rather than take the risk (and the liability) of placing them in a new home.

What do you do with an aggressive rescue dog?

Move away from whatever you dog was reacting to. Safely cross the street if needed. If your dog is showing aggressive behavior toward you, don't turn your back on your dog and don't stare into their eyes. If needed, go slowly into another room while moving sideways.
