Are Whippets delicate?

【Expert answer】
Any Q

Whippets are gentle and affectionate dogs who love human companionship. They're beautiful but quite delicate. Whippets can be prone to cutting their skin on thorns, twigs or any other sharp objects.

Are Whippets fragile?

Whippets are the perfect size for children. They aren't too fragile and they're not too strong. This makes them a great addition for all households. As said before, Whippets are not a needy breed that requires constant attention.

Are Whippets gentle?

Whippets are gentle, non-aggressive and enjoy human companionship. They can be an apartment dog if exercised a couple of times a day. Whippets do not like being cold and hate hard surfaces. Consider a whippet if you don't mind it being on furniture.

Are Whippets mischievous?

In addition to being one of the most affectionate breeds, whippets are also funny, clever, and playful. They're mischievous (especially as puppies) and often have their own agendas, which they'll try to put ahead of yours!

Do Whippets mind being left alone?

Whippets are hounds (sighthounds) and as such are used to being together in packs. As a rule then they tend to prefer company and dislike being alone. With proper socialisation and training, a well adjusted adult Whippet can be left alone.
